Panoramic Head

Category: Capture

A specialised tripod head that rotates the camera exactly around the nodal point, enabling parallax-free frames for panorama and gigapixel stitching.

A panoramic head (with nodal point adapter) lets you pan the camera precisely around the nodal point of the lens rather than around the tripod axis. As a result foreground and background do not shift against each other, and overlapping frames can be stitched cleanly.

Good panoramic heads offer adjustable detent angles for even overlap and repeatable rows – a prerequisite for large gigapixel mosaics from hundreds of individual frames.
