Colour Management
Category: Processing
Colour management ensures that colours are displayed consistently throughout the entire production chain – from the camera through monitor and image editing to the final print. Every device reproduces colour differently; without control, the same image would look different on each device.
The basis is ICC profiles, which describe each device's colour behaviour, together with clearly defined colour spaces. On this basis, colours are translated from one device to another in a controlled way.
In large-format printing, consistent colour management is especially important, as colour deviations are clearly noticeable on a large surface and across recurring orders.
